Wisconsin Democrats renew call for paid medical and family leave
Current Wisconsin law requires employers of 50 workers or more to provide eight weeks of unpaid leave for the birth of a child and two weeks of unpaid leave to deal with a serious medical condition. State Democrats announced a bill today that would guarantee Wisconsin workers up to 12 weeks of paid family or medical leave – and up to 14 weeks if they’re eligible for a combination of both.

Lawmakers seek to create college savings fund for Wisconsin kids
As costs for groceries, housing, and tuition continue to rise, it is more important than ever that families have the ability to save for educational expenses. Wisconsin Democratic Senate Leader Dianne Hesselbein (D-Middleton) and Representative Alex Joers (D-Waunakee) have announced bi-partisan legislation which would establish a savings account for every child born in Wisconsin.
